Handmade OOAK Bee on Hive Collectible Vintage Doll

Finished doll, not the pattern.

This OOAK prototype doll is the very first doll I made to develop the pattern for “Bee-a-trice” back in 1999. She is one of the many dolls in my personal collection that I decided to part with. I wanted to keep each doll I made to develop each and everyone of my patterns, but over the years I have made over 175 dolls and patterns, there are just to many for me to keep. They have been stored in boxes for these many years and decided its finally time to part with them and to share them. It’s sooo hard to let them go. All my prototype dolls will come with a certificate of authenticity.

Bee-a-trice is 11 1/2" tall sitting on the hive. The wing span is 13 3/4” wide. Bee body itself is 9 1/2” long. The hive is 6” tall. She can be removed from the hive.

Her body, wings and hive are made from muslin that has been stiffened, painted, stained and coated with a satin finish. Her face is needle sculpted. Wings are lined with batting and quilted. The hive has sunflowers attached.
